Mission Statement

Afriklease - Mission Statement 2025

Why We Exist

Africa’s farms, workshops, and infrastructure sites operate at an average of <0.5 horsepower per hectare or task—far below the FAO’s recommended minimum of 1.5 hp/ha. Demonstration plots achieving ~0.8 hp/ha show immediate yield increases of 30–40%, reduced manual labor, and enhanced economic potential. This gap represents both a challenge and an opportunity to transform Africa’s productivity and livelihoods through accessible, sustainable equipment solutions.

Our Mission

Afriklease drives Africa’s economic and agricultural transformation by delivering the right equipment, to the right users, at the right time—affordably, transparently, and sustainably.

Strategic Objectives

# What We Will Do How 2030 Checkpoint
1 Close the Equipment Gap Source quality second-hand, new, or CKD-assembled machinery from Europe, Asia, and the Americas, prioritizing smallholder-appropriate and climate-adapted equipment 150,000 machines deployed across 20 countries
2 Expand Access for All Offer blockchain-enabled, pay-as-you-go leases, cooperative ownership, and service-provider models, integrated with mobile money and stablecoin payments 1.2 million smallholders, SMEs, and cooperatives served; default rate <3%
3 Empower Through Skills Collaborate with vocational centers, OEM academies, and digital training platforms to certify mechanics, operators, and spare parts distributors 30,000 technicians trained; 100,000 total jobs created
4 Promote Sustainability & Circularity Align with ECOWAS/EAC standards, retrofit Euro-4+ emissions kits, establish take-back and remanufacturing hubs, and integrate renewable energy solutions 65% material recovery rate; 2 Mt CO₂-eq avoided
5 Foster Local Innovation Transition from imports to African-assembled equipment, support component manufacturing under AfCFTA, and pilot R&D for context-specific solutions ≥35% local-content share in our fleet; 5 innovation hubs established

Operating Clusters — The Afriklease 5-Pillar Portfolio

  1. Transportation & Mobility: Light-duty vehicles, trucks, buses, motorcycles, and emerging EV/hybrid fleets for urban and rural connectivity.
  2. Agricultural Machinery: Tractors (15–120 hp), two-wheel tillers, irrigation pumps, harvesters, and processing equipment tailored for smallholder farms.
  3. Construction & Infrastructure: Excavators, loaders, cranes, and road-building equipment to support Africa’s infrastructure boom.
  4. Energy & Utility: Diesel/solar-hybrid generators, mini-grids, transformers, and water/sanitation systems for reliable power and services.
  5. Specialized & Technical: Medical diagnostics, CNC machines, ICT infrastructure, and cold-chain systems to drive industrial and service-sector growth.

Core Values

  • Inclusivity: Prioritizing last-mile communities and marginalized groups, including women and youth.
  • Transparency: Ensuring every lease, payment, and transaction is auditable on-chain.
  • Capability First: Investing in skills to maximize equipment impact and empower local talent.
  • Sustainability: Committing to Euro-4+ standards, renewable integration, and circular economy principles.
  • Collaboration: Partnering with governments, cooperatives, financiers, OEMs, and communities to co-create scalable solutions.

Five-Year Headline Outcomes (2025–2030)

  • Increase average farm power in focus zones from 0.5 to ≥0.9 hp/ha, adding 5 million tons of food annually.
  • Finance or lease 150,000 machines across 20 countries.
  • Train 30,000 technicians and create 100,000 direct and indirect jobs.
  • Avoid 2 million tons of CO₂-equivalent emissions through efficiency, retrofits, and renewable integration.
  • Recover or remanufacture 65% of end-of-life material value, establishing 3 regional remanufacturing hubs.

The Future We Are Building

By 2035, Afriklease will transform Africa’s equipment deficit into a surplus of opportunity: skilled youth and entrepreneurs operating efficient, locally adapted machines, many built in Africa, to feed the continent, power its industries, and drive inclusive, sustainable growth. Through regional integration under AfCFTA, digital innovation, and a commitment to circularity, Afriklease will help Africa leapfrog to a future of self-reliance and global competitiveness.
